Keeping Food From Spoiling While Treking
#1
Here is an idea that I have discovered.

When perambulating around Sin City, I sometimes have an impulse buy a steak or a piece of fish.

When I do I also buy a bottle of chilled water and put it in the same bag, thereby ensuring that my purchases does not spoil while I am outside in 80f to 90f degrees of heat.

On a trip in the hot areas of the great USA, I suggest that members should also adopt this idea by including in the same bag of croissants, smoked salmon, Jersey Blue cheese, and a half bottle of Cisco, blue raspberry of course, a cold bottle of water.

To improve the chilling factor, freeze the bottle of water, with the cap off or it will burst, and carry this in a bag to chill your comestibles.

Replace the cap before placing in the bag. <img src='http://hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Sound wisdom Pete.

When we travel to the bright lights for the day we often buy cheese and take a cooler in the car with ice packs.

This is a good alternative if we forget the cooler.

Thanks

Hopefully the S won't HTF and I pray every day that it won't. It would not be fun.

If you carry one bottle of frozen water in each trouser pocket you will be able to endure the heat of the day while walking around the town center.

True it will spoil the line of your trousers but ignore the titters your comfort on a hot day is what matters Dave.
