Zombie Extermination
#31
[quote name='Muddyboots' post='374877' date='Jun 9 2009, 12:39 PM']With all due respect to good brother Tack, burning them off the walls works well provided that your fortifications are built with fire in mind. In a non-contained or non-massed situation, flaming zombies are not good. Sorry for my failure to elaborate on context.

The book mentioned is World War Z by Max Brooks (son of Mel) and the Zombie Survival guide (also Brooks.) Like most survival guides, it has a lot of information that is a good start but not the end all. Much is re-printed from old military manuals. It doesn't mean it's wrong or even right, just right for the needs of the military. As is usual for the Corps, they improvised and then type classified a good purpose built tool for Zombie fights (See Brooks: Lobotomizer aka Senior Lobo). I didn't mention it because not everyone knows WWZ. Then there is the SIR...

Note I didn't mention massed fire, I've been to Yonkers.

Romero acknowledges Brooks with vigor.

i think i would go for a modefied bulldozer and for close combat i mould use a mace and a chain whip

by the way the zombie survival guide doesnt mention the use of bulldozers for zombie extermination does it?

bulldozers tend to be slow, which could be a problem.

If you are considering a zombie causing virus, why would you want only impact weapons for close combat? you'll have infected blood all over you.

I would want a well secured, positive pressure ventilated, hidden, filtered air intake, underground fortress with at least 2 hidden entry/exit points. Inside i would like 2 up-armored hybrid engine Lamborghinis with a huge fuel tanks. then a couple Glock 18's a nice 870, a MK12mod1 rifle, and an XM107 SASR with a few thousand rounds of ammo for each. And food and water for me and my family (of 3) for 6 months or so.

That should all fit in that Lambo, right? Maybe I'll try turbo charging a Unimog...

i guess i should have clarified what i really meant as a modified buldozer would in fact be the batmobile with a front loader attached

also i would chose impact weapons because they dont need reloading

if i need a long range weapon there will be plenty left from those unfortunate enough to have been caught be zombies

and last i thought you could only get the virus if a zombie bit you

I've always been a fan of the 500HP hydraulically operated four row corn chopper with bullet proof glass, electrified chassis and Air-conditioning. This one sports a nice 400W Bose stereo system to help cover up the noise of grinding bones.
