Surviving In A Socialist Society
#31
Well hell, I"m an angry WHITE woman!

So should YOU be!

Personally, anybody who isn't angry must be on meds!

It's not so much that I love Obama, although I disagree that he hates the country.

My problem with McCain is that he hasn't shown much good sense, in my opinion.

Besides having one foot in the grave.... his running mate is a total airhead!

And she's a liar to boot! She has made some REALLY stoooooooooooooopid mistakes already and she's not near the White House yet.

How can I trust her with foreign policy if she can't even remember the names of the magazines she SAYS she reads each month?

Duhhhhhh :Confusedlaps her forhead with an ASL "D"::::::::

You think we got problems now?

Well, you're right, we do.

Because no matter who wins the election, we've got some paying to do for our past.

Palin?

Reminds me of putting a 12 year old Caesar on the throne so the "real" corrupt power machine could manipulate the country.

No, I take that back.

A 12 year old probably has more sense.
why is it relevant to anything that Todd Palin had a DUI 22 years ago?
In the liberal view it shows that he associates with drunks....... <img src='http://www.hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' /> ...no...wait...that's the wrong argument....you can't judge a person by his associations..... <img src='http://www.hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

err...it's because his wife is the Republican candidate for VP?????

Annie...check your meds...I think you forgot them today....either that or Portland has gotten to you......or the liberal media....

So Joe Biden never makes a mistake??? Obama and his wife hate the very ground this country exists on.

And I don't think I can be an angry white woman........ <img src='http://www.hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

I'm about as against socialism as I can get, but I can see the writing on the wall. The way I see it, there are more people in America looking for a free ride than there are people who just want to be left alone, to make the best life they can with the skills and blessings God gave them. People don't want to work hard, they don't want to earn their way into a better life, they feel entitled to it.

Even if McCain does miraculously some how win, the people who want Obama as president will still be there, and they will still have the same agenda. Unless someone has some genius idea to change their minds, we're going to keep inching towards Obamafication of the country.

The only candidate that has been in this race that I really had any real approval of, was Ron Paul. I don't think that this country will ever see a man with his ideals make it to the white house, without some -serious- retooling of our population.

Doesn't matter how you look at it, Obama got where he is from the momentum of a lot of people. Those people honestly believe that kind of change is needed. Obama himself doesn't scare me, I've encountered plenty of loony tunes in my life to know they are out there. What scares me is that 50% of this country give or take, LIKES what he has to say, and LIKES what he wants to do.

I think the republican party did a great disservice in selecting McCain and Palin as their candidate. One has too much baggage, and the other has too little gray matter.

Regardless of who gets elected, I honestly think they're going to have to deal with a huge economic problem, that will be world wide, and I also think that we'll see another terrorist event of significant scale. In historical terms, AQ has attacked at the US at least once during each of the last presidents administrations. They hit the WTC just a month after Bill Clinton took office in 1993, they hit it again just a few months into GW's first term.

I'm not angry about the situation, because getting angry won't do anything to change it. I think that this nation and the world as a whole are in for some seriously tough times ahead. I fully expect that Obama will be the one to try to manage the disaster. I am hopeful that he will fail miserably at it, and that his policies will have a negative impact on Joe the Plumber and everyone else who thinks his goals are the right way to go. I basically want him to fail, so that the people who thought his ideas were so grand, become disillusioned and get back to what this country was supposed to be. Short of Obama failing and his followers losing the faith, I don't really see any other way to convince 150 million or so people that they were wrong about this country needing a more socialist government.

In the mean time, I'm going to make the best of the situation I can. I'm going to capitalize on every handout he wants to offer, if it's in my best interest to do so.

The situation sucks, but it is what it is.

I so wish I could agree with Muleskinner... but unless ALOT of middle and Corporate America wake up... we're in for a real shiite showing... (um, literally and figuratively)

I will preface my next thought, I have not read or even looked at the good senator's books, but I don't think the conservative rags would have gotten away with the quotes were they not true and the Dems would not have ignored them as they generally do.

The senator had distanced himself from his mother and grandparents until the debates, then he embraced them???? No one asks why?

The senator has spoken againt our patriotism as being confrontational and war-like and his wife and he having attended flag burnings... and no one asks why?

I beg everyone to get a copy of John Wayne's "America, you ask me why I love her" and listen to it... and spread it around.... back in the 1980's there was a "Christian contatta (sp)... "I Love America" Liberty Baptist now Liberty University was a big proponent of it... another great listen to remind us all of our Patriotism and love of country...

Remember- keep your rifle clean as a whistle, hatched scoured, sixty rounds powder and ball, and be ready to march at a moments notice...

Annie,

You been drinkin the koolaid?

I seriously cannot believe it when people are bringing up Palin's lack of experience when Barack Obama has never (yup, never) held a position where he was directly responsible for a people group, not even run a company. He's never been Governor Obama, Mayor Obama, Owner Obama, not even Professor Obama (the extent of him being a "law professor" was teaching a single law course for a year, how's that for lying). Obama has been caught in so many lies that he and the media refuse to bring to light that it's getting repulsive, yet followers of the Supreme Potentate continue to cite Sarah Palin as a liar. She has a history of getting things done, not talking. Personally, I'll take the doer over the talker.

His experience has left him in a position that he would be ineligible to be Secret Service, any high-ranking military position, California Highway Patrol, Tulare County Sherriff, even Visalia PD (I'm only speaking through my direct knowledge, hence the local references). I judge a man by his character, unfortunately that is lacking in Him.

I vote according to history. Always have. I don't make my decisions on single issues, but rather on the history of issues that have come to pass. Unfortunately too many issues at hand have happened in the past. :Big Grinaniel pulls the manhole cover back over his head::

just to add: I am in a real moral delimma about this election. I do not like ANY candidate from any viable party (including 3rd/4th/5th party candidates). I am feeling sad that my vote is being cast for the "lesser of two evils".

snaps,

I'm with you on the lack of confidence in any candidate. I just don't see any way to change the momentum of this current situation. That's why rather than bracing for it, I plan on just redirecting it into the least worst outcome for me personally.

The entire situation has so many bad potentials. If he loses, I'd venture we'll see epic levels of civil unrest. If he gets whacked, I'm positive we'll see massive civil unrest. If he actually runs the country for his full term, we're probably going to be left reeling from it for years and years.

I think no matter what, this country's got a long hike through a manure field ahead of it, and there's not point stopping to scrape the shit off our boots till we make it to the other side.

Here's a perfect example of his own written words being ignored:

Obama Affinity to Marxists Dates Back to College Days

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/28/ob...s-college-days/

Quote:Obama himself acknowledges that he was drawn to socialists and even Marxists as a college student. He continued to associate with Marxists later in life, even choosing to launch his political career in the living room of a self-described Marxist, William Ayers, in 1995, when Obama was 34.

Obama's affinity for Marxists began when he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

Obama's interest in leftist politics continued after he transferred to Columbia University in New York. He lived on Manhattan's Upper East Side, venturing to the East Village for what he called "the socialist conferences I sometimes attended at Cooper Union."

Now, if McCain had come out and said that during his college years (you know, during the Civil War <img src='http://www.hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> ) that he had been friends with, associated with and been drawn to the KKK, the Nazi Party or some Southern Separatist group, what would EVERY news story for the past 6 months have been? "White supremacist candidate John "Adolf" McCain said...." If anyone is naive enough to buy into the "ignore his associations" BS, they should at least sit up and see what the man himself has written.

Well, the Press has often been referred to as the 4th pillar of democracy. It's little surprise to me that it's become just as corrupt as the other 3 in our time.

Mayors, senators, governors being convicted of felonies. Presidential candidates who can't qualify to work for the FBI but can qualify to lead the nation it serves?

This nation is in bad shape.
